Is reconstituted veneer real wood or printed laminate?
Reconstituted veneer is made from real wood material. Natural wood material is processed and reassembled to create a controlled decorative grain. It is still veneer rather than solid lumber, so it is intended to be bonded to a suitable substrate as part of a finished surface system.
What does “reconstituted” or “engineered” veneer mean?
Reconstituted, or engineered, veneer is natural wood that has been processed and reorganized into repeatable decorative patterns. The method improves visual consistency from sheet to sheet. Tops Timber does not publish confidential factory-process details, and project performance still depends on the substrate, adhesive, installation and finish system.
Are Maple, Oak and Ebony finishes made from those exact tree species?
No. These finish names describe the colour and grain appearance that the reconstituted veneer is designed to reproduce; they are not botanical species claims. If a project specification requires a named natural species or certified chain of custody, confirm that requirement before ordering.
What is the standard full-sheet size?
The standard full sheet is nominally 0.4 mm thick, 600 mm wide and 2500 mm long, covering about 1.5 m². These are nominal commercial dimensions. Confirm project tolerances, cutting allowances and final quantities before fabrication.
Is the non-woven backing self-adhesive?
No. The veneer uses a non-woven backing but is not supplied as a peel-and-stick product. Adhesive selection and surface preparation must suit the specific substrate and application; request project-specific guidance or test a sample assembly before full installation.
Where can flexible reconstituted veneer be used?
Typical interior applications include furniture panels, cabinet and door surfaces, walls and display fixtures. Suitability is project-specific: the substrate, curve, adhesive, surface preparation and final coating all matter. This answer does not approve exterior, continuously wet or high-humidity use.
What does the Veneer Sample Book contain, and how do I order it?
The Veneer Sample Book contains real veneer swatches for evaluating appearance and material feel. It has its own online purchase path. The Sample Book may be updated periodically as new veneer samples become available, so check the product page for the current offer rather than relying on a fixed finish count.
How do I order full sheets, and can I mix finishes?
Full sheets are supplied through a freight-quote process rather than direct checkout. The current minimum is four sheets, and different finishes may be combined within that minimum. Send the finish names, quantities and complete delivery address so the team can prepare a project-specific quotation.
Do you ship internationally, and who pays duties and taxes?
Veneer Sample Book checkout is available for selected destinations; other destinations and all full-sheet orders follow the quotation path. Shipments are generally quoted on a DDU basis, so the buyer is responsible for destination duties, taxes and import charges. Availability and freight must be confirmed for the final address.
What should I do if I need installation, certification or warranty information?
Contact Tops Timber with the product, finish, substrate, application and destination. Installation guidance, certification scope and warranty terms must be confirmed for the applicable product and project. Do not rely on an unsupported general claim where a technical submittal, certificate or test is required.
